Best Life Fitness Treadmills

Does the gym really work? (I signed up for planet fitness)?
I am feeling very motivated to lose weight this summer! I’ve been chubby my whole life but I wanna be skinny for once. I want to lose 10-20 pounds before I turn sept (senior yr). I also got a new job that I wanna look the best ican.
I signed up for planet fitness membership 2 weeks ago and I’ve been scared to go cuz idk I’ve never went to the gym anymore and I really want to lose weight.. I have a few questions…
I want to lose leg/thigh fat, what machines r good to use (bikes, treadmills, weights etc.) I also wanna lose stomach weight too but don’t wanna do crunches/sit ups.also how many times should I go to the gym a week to get results? I’m serious on losin weight!!
It works if you go, and if you stick with it.
Set a goal to go at least three times a week. Mark on the calendar when you go, make yourself accountable. It is easy to just slack of. The weight won’t go away over night, as it wasn’t put on overnight! You need to be patient, and work on other goals than just the number on the scale. Work on being able to run 30 min without stopping, then when you get that up it to 60 mins. Mini goals like that help you focus on something that won’t discourage you like the scale will. Also, try taking progress pics. It really helps. When you think you aren’t doing any good, pull out your progress pics and you will have renewed motivation. I did it, and it was amazing! I probably would have stopped if I hadn’t seen my progress pics. I lost over 20 pounds, and since you see yourself everyday you don’t really notice the difference. The pics helped me to not fall off track.
To lose weight, you need cardio and weight lifting. I would do something easy like run for 30-60 minutes on Monday and Wednesday, then on Tuesday and Thursday use the weight machines and work your full body. Never weight train two days in a row on the same muscle group, you need time to recover!
Good luck!
