What cardio machine at the gym is best for burning calories in less time?
I’ve been using the Cybex Arc Trainer which seems to burn more calories than the treadmill according to the calorie meter on the machine. It includes weight when calculating burned calories.
I just want to know if this is the most effective choice.
From what I understand…….. it’s the machine that will keep you on it for 30+ minutes, get your heart rate up, and make you use the most of your body. If you get on a treadmill and barely go at a stroll compared to getting on the bike and staying on there for an hour then you are better off on the bike. If you really enjoy the elliptical trainer then stick with that. Honestly it seems to be whatever machine will get you moving, and keep you going at your target heart rate is the best. How do you “feel” after you’ve been on the bike? Treadmill or Elliptical? Do you enjoy one more than the other? Work out harder or for longer on one? And yes, you should vary your work out and add resistance to your workout. So change it up a bit, and add weights. Use the machine that gives YOU a good workout. You’ll know when you are on it if it’s challenging you, and if you feel good about it when you’re done. Make it fun yet challenging!
