Cybex Error Codes

I need help repairing a Trotter/Cybex 640cr treadmill….PLEASE!!!!?

I have a Trotter/Cybex 640cr treadmill. When you plug it in, in works for a few minutes, then completely shuts down and continuosly beeps untill unplugged. No error code appears on the display. I have taken it apart, and everything appears to work correctly. I checked the speed sensor, incline motor, incline motor sensor, drive motor, all fuses, and even the drive motor brushes. It starts beeping even if its not running, and only plugged in. After unplugged for a while, it seems to reset, and the “start” light appears on the display, only to start beeping again after a few minutes. I am completely lost, and would really appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

I work for Cybex customer service and I saw your question, and I might be able to help you.

The beeping sound could be one of several issues. It could be low wall voltage. Your treadmill should be on a dedicated line. nothing else should be plugged into the the same circuit breaker.

Another possible problem could be a bad or lose display cable. inspect the display cable from the lower board to the display and make sure it is not damaged

The last possibility is; it could be a small capacitor on the upper display shorting out. In time if you don’t have the machine on the dedicated line this cap might fail.

There are tests you can try but it is better to get an authorized technician to run them.
