cybex machine presses vs. dumbbell presses?
im a rookie bodybuilder, just some average college kid who loves weight lifting in my free time, and i was wondering if any seasoned weight trainers could give me any knowledge on the comparison between the cybex chest press ( a seated machine for the chest and triceps) vs. the traditional old school flat dumbbell presses with heavy weight. i’ve noticed alot of the beefier guys choose old school arnold style free weights over the machines, but i’m interested in maximizing my chest strength and would like some good input. thanks!
Free weights are much better. They incorporate a wider range of muscles since you must stabilize the weight. In turn, you work more muscles, burn more calories fat/etc. You should only use machine weights if you have joint problems or some underlying issue
