Cybex Treadmill Error Codes
Question about troubleshooting a Trotter/Cybex 640cr treadmill…PLEASE HELP!!!?
I have a Trotter 640cr treadmill. When turned on, it works for a few minutes, then everything turns off except for a continuous beep untill its unplugged. No error code or anything. The speed sensor, and the sensor for the incline appear to be working fine, as indicated by a LED light on the lower control board. I don’t think its a drive motor issue, as it does this running or not, as long as its plugged up. The LED for main power, and aux power are also both lit when it starts beeping. Not sure what the problem is. Any info would be GREAT!! Thanks.
It sounds as if your problem relates to a component on the upper display board.
There is a capacitor on this board labeled “C5″.
If the capacitor has leaked electrolytic material on to the board it may have caused a short across the two terminals to which the capacitor is mounted.
If you make sure you unplug the treadmill and take the appropriate safety precautions when dealing with electrical/electronic equipment you should be able to access the display board.
When you locate C5 you can carefully remove it from the board using a small wire cutter.
Then you should clean the area between the terminals with contact cleaner and a small bush or blade to remove any of the electrolyte causing the short.
Replace the capacitor with the same value cap.
That should resolve the problem.
As a test……
If you don’t have a replacement capacitor – you can still reinstall the display board without the capacitor.
If C5 was the problem the treadmill will now run correctly.
If you do not have the skill or expertise to replace an electronic board component……
