Elliptical Cybex
Whats the best way to optimize use of an Elliptical?
Background: I weight 215 and I’ve been using a Cybex Elliptical in my local gym. This week I’ve been using level 3 and going for about 35-45 minutes (burning anywhere from 560 – 710 calories.)
Would it be better to try and sustain level 3 for a longer period of time or would it be better to try to go up a level and lower the time (or try to keep it the same) that I stay on the machine?

This might help. Here’s what I’ve done the past 3 days on the Elliptical.
1. 35 minutes, 1.86 miles, level 3, 560 calories burned
2. 40 minutes, 2.20 miles, level 3, 645 calories burned
3. 45 minutes, 2.43 miles, level 3, 710 calories burned
I keep a pretty quick pace for a man of my size (5’10″, 215lbs)
I just want to burn off fat quicker by burning more calories.

You could do something like use level 3 for 60 minutes next time.
then next time use a higher level at 35 minutes. Then each week raise it until you hit 60 minutes again. Then raise it another level.
