Fitness Treadmill Compare

Fitness Question?
Hey, I’m 15 years old, 5’6, 115 pounds. I recently had 2 major surgeries over the past 2 years and haven’t run for the past 2 years because of this. My most recent surgery was about 6 months ago, and I started running 2-3 weeks ago.
People tell me they run a mile in 6 minutes, but I run a mile in 12.5 minutes, and I’m really disappointed with my results, I don’t know why I’m going so slow. I have good shoes, I also run on a treadmill, while the people I compared with run on a field.
Any suggestions?
Also, how can I get my veins to pop out? I’m only allowed 4 pound weights, so I do about 180 reps of arm curls, hammer curls, etc.
