Proform 1200
Is this sensible? Lose 50lbs in 2 weeks? My pissed off strategy?
I don’t have a job currently but I’m looking. So I figured I’d try to lose weight biggest loser style, since I don’t need much energy to sit around. I’m going to stick to a 1200 calorie diet, (chicken thighs, fish, whole grains, fruit and vegetables) and exercise for 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. I’m 350lbs so I figure I’d lose at least 50lbs in the next 2 weeks or so.
I was sort of inspired by the fact that I bought an elliptical , after I ordered it found out it has a 250 lb weight limit, and that it cost $100 to send it back and $100 restocking fee. Never buy exercise equipment from HSN or proform
please consider that the Biggest Loser is a tv show, and they do things to the extreme to get people to watch it.
I would encourage you to increase the calories slightly, especially if you feel very hungry.
Even 1800 will let you lose weight. Don’t expect 50 pounds in 2 weeks. that would be really dangerous. for the first few weeks you might lose 5 lbs, but typically 1-3 per week is healthy.
I’m curious too about your exercise plan, too much too soon will leave you sore, unmotivated and likely injured, as you’ve probably seen examples of on the show. If you’re sticking with your 2 hours, make sure most of it is light to moderate activity, here’s an example of what will help you without putting extra strain and risk on your joints
1 hr walking in the morning
15 minutes strength training (or 30 minutes every other day)
15 minutes stretching
30 minute evening walk.
some suggestions for the strength training portion is to alternate upper and lower body training days, or do it together but skip every other day. the rest period is when the muscle repairs and gets stronger.
you can get light hand weights, or resistance tubing really cheap.
you’ll be able to use your elliptical in a less than one year. they are great for cardio, because they are non impact, and great for in the winter. consider keeping it to maintain your motivations
