Proform 520
I need help picking an elliptical machine to buy… thinking about a ProForm 480 CSE?
Does anyone have one? do you like it… the other option i was looking at was the ProForm XP 520 Razor.. want to keep it under $500 (both of these are on sale for under that right now) Thanks for any input!
I own a Nordic Track Audiostrider 800, so I can’t give you direct advice on the two ProForm models you mentioned. However, I can give you advice from someone who spent long hours researching these things before making a purchase.
My first suggestion is to go try these machines in the stores. I went to Sears, The Sports Authority, etc., and got on the machines to see what felt good and to judge the quality of the machine first hand. Every machine is going to have a different stride, and depending on your body frame, some machines will not feel comfortable. If someone else in your household plans on using the machine, have them go with you to try them out.
One key point I want to say is with an elliptical or treadmill purchase, you definitely get what you pay for. The more affordable models have many online reviews of not holding up. However, if you get lucky and/or stay patient, deals do come about. My elliptical is MSRP $999.00 I believe. I was able to nab it on sale at sears.com for $669.00.
