Treadmill workout ??
I am 5’2 and I exercise on my treadmill everyday for an hour. It has been my third day on the treadmill today so far. My 1st day I went 4 miles and burned 500 calories. My 2nd day I burned 600 calories and wen 4 and a half miles and my third day today I burned 600 calories and went 4 and a half miles. I weigh 160 and i want to loose 20 pounds. yes i know its going to be a while before i loose that much, but how long do i really need to be doing this for an hour and for how many days? Shouldnt it only be 3 days or 4 days or 5 or 6 or 7 days a week?
I’m glad that you recognize that it’s going to take a while to lose 20 pounds. It’s good that you’re steadily increasing your workload which is very nice. About your question, If it doesn’t hurt (I mean if you can afford the time, and your body doesn’t hurt in the morning), keep going for an hour, but try going faster and faster. And yes, regular rigorous exercise shouldn’t be done for 7 days a week – your body needs to recover. It’s going to be helpful to exercise 2 days, then rest the next, then exercise again the next 2 days, then rest the next. By rest, I don’t mean you’re going to lie around the house being a couch potato. Just do some light, 15-20 minute exercise. I hope your enthusiasm doesn’t dwindle – if it does, try walking outdoors with a buddy to spice things up. And since your goal is to lose weight, eat healthy, fiber-rich food low in fat. Don’t forget to drink water during and after your workouts!
