Is a Weider 155 Bench worth the price?
I saw this bench on sale for 90 dollars:

It’s called Weider 155 Bench with 100 lb. Vinyl Weight Set
with 100 lbs. of vinyl weights and a step-by-step exercise chart.
What do you think is the maximum weight for this bench? And do you think the barbell can handle at least 200 pounds of weight?
So yeah please answer my 2 specific questions.
1. What do you think the maximum weight for this bench is? Like. what’s the maximum weight before the bench breaks.
2. Do you think this barbell can handle up to 200 pounds? Or, What do you think the max weight for the barbell? (The barbell is about 2 to 3 pounds)
I agree with the other poster. Since vinyl weights are bulkier, they leave less room on the bar to add more weight, severely limiting your progress.
I’d guess the bar *might* handle up to 155 lbs, both in terms of space & actual durability of the bar. The maximum weight for the bench is probably around 400 lbs (including an average 150 lb person + 200-250 lbs of weight). The specs should indicate its max.
I don’t think this is worth the price. It probably has a very short warranty & you’ll quickly outgrow it. A good olympic bench might cost around $300 new but will last you a lifetime (& have a lifetime warranty). An olympic bench has wider arm rests (very important as your chest grows to give you enough space). Moreover, it can handle more force/weight (800 + lbs including both the athlete & the weights) & allows for sturdier barbells that can handle fit more weight plates.
A better value for your money would be found in a gym, exercise supply catalog, or garage sale.
